It is a collective term for seven Western-style buildings scattered throughout the Yamate area of Naka Ward, Yokohama City, which were built from the Meiji to the early Showa period. Each building has a unique architectural style and history, and they are open to the public as valuable cultural assets that convey the lifestyle of foreign residents from that era. Amidst an exotic atmosphere, visitors can experience the history of Yokohama's port opening and international exchange.
